McCain VAT Sense of Senate Amendment Passes

An amendment offered by Senator John McCain (R-AZ) to the Continuing Extension Act (H.R. 4851) has been adopted by a vote of 85 to 13.

It’s a non-binding “sense of the Senate” amendment which would state that the Senate opposes any effort to implement a VAT (value added tax).
