DeMint Border Fence Homeland Security Amendment Adopted

An amendment offered by Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) to the Homeland Security Appropriations Act (H.R. 2892) has been adopted by a vote of 54 to 44.

This amendment would require all 700 miles of physical pedestrian fencing on the southern border to be completed by December 31st, 2010.

    There is no 700 miles of pedestrian fencing. Most of it is “vehicle barriers” that people can walk through. See for yourself here.
