McConnell Says Senate Will Vote on President’s Budget

Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced in a press release statement today that the Senate “will vote on the budget President Obama submitted to Congress in February.”

“I understand that the Majority Leader would like to have a vote on the House-passed Ryan budget and we will,” McConnell said. “But we’ll have a vote on the President’s budget at the same time. Since there is no Democrat budget in the Senate, we’ll give our colleagues an opportunity to stand with the President in failing to address the problems facing our nation while calling for trillions in new spending, massive new debt and higher taxes on American energy, families and small businesses across the country.”

Damn Mitch McConnell and every Republican who continues to tell the trickle down economy lie regarding tax cuts for the rich creating jobs. Data doesn’t support that. It’s one thing to tell a lie…it’s another to continue to do so in the face of facts! Tax cuts for the wealthy don’t create jobs! Two tax cuts for the wealthy under Pres. G.W. Bush proves that! This guy and all Republicans are constantly stating that they are listening to the American people? Crapola! If so, they wouldn’t be insisting on keeping tax cuts for the rich going, as over 70% of people in poll after poll want to see these tax cuts end! The Republicans..with the election of President Obama all of sudden have become so worried about debt reduction..when during the 8 years of Bush…one would be hard pressed to find record of such matters being of a concern to McConnell and his colleagues at all! He and they are hypocrites of the highest order! They all the time stand for the rich getting richer! Even now, as we suffer at the gas pumps.., they are fighting against Democrats ending financial breaks for big oil companies which would indeed help with the national deficit by billions of dollars! This resistence on their parts in spite of record profits on said companies. What…are those companies creating jobs too? No they’re not. These people have proven time and again they are not for the middle class; women; the poor and now with Ryan’s plan…for the elderly either! But I guess these sundry groups of people don’t comprise “the American people” that Mitch and his gang listen to.

I have not been paying a lot of attention, but is it not odd that each party seems to be attacking the other by forcing a vote on the others proposal? Have they completely lost touch with what they are attempting to do in an effort to gain an advantage over the other side?
Do they even have an agenda, besides winning the next election?
