Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is leading a delegation of Senators on a “week-long, informational trip throughout China,” according to a press release. Members arrived today in Hong Kong.
Senators Richard Shelby (R-AL), Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Mike Enzi (R-WY), Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Johnny Isakson (R-GA), Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Michael Bennet (D-CO) are also making the trip.
They will “meet with government officials and do site visits of American investments and clean energy projects in Chengdu, Beijing and Xi’An.”
They plan to discuss “issues including clean energy, trade issues, currency, foreign policy and human rights.”
