Virginia Senate: Allen Announces First Quarter Numbers

Republican George Allen “reports today he raised over $1.5 million in less than 10 weeks in his bid to reclaim a U.S. Senate seat in Virginia,” USA Today reports.

The ex-senator and governor also said he has $1.25 million in the bank, for what will likely become one of the country’s top Senate races in 2012 that could help determine party control. Candidates have been reporting their fundraising hauls for the first quarter, which covers January through March.

Allen’s “GOP primary opponent, Tea Party leader Jamie Radtke, says she raised more than $150,000 since declaring her candidacy late last year.”
