Rand Paul Could Entertain White House Run

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) “isn’t ruling out a White House bid just yet — whether in 2012, 2016 or somewhere further down the line,” POLITICO reports.

“I’ve only been here a month, so come back and ask me in a few months,” the tea party-backed Kentucky Republican told ABC News when asked if he was interested in running for president.

“We’ll see,” he said. “I’m very much interested in trying to shape the debate. I think already only being here a few weeks, I may not win the battles but people are talking about what we’re proposing.”

But Paul made clear that he wasn’t closing the door on ever running. “I’m not willing to go as far as Sherman said – ‘if nominated I will not run.’ If nominated, I will run.”

Rand Paul might be able to fool the folks in Kentucky, but when it comes down to a national campaign and under the bright lights of the media — I don’t think his radical right-wing stances would make it outside of the ususal right-wing states.
