Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-AZ) “announced that he’s adding three new members, two of whom are freshmen, to his whip team,” POLITICO reports.
Sens. Roger Wicker of Mississippi, Rob Portman of Ohio, the freshman, and Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri will join the second-ranking GOP Senator in “building support for the Republican legislative agenda."
The two freshman members are still experienced whips. Blunt served as the Republican whip in the House, while Portman was a congressman from southern Ohio for six terms.
Portman, Wicker and Blunt join Kyl’s existing team, which includes Chief Deputy Whip Richard Burr and Sens. Mike Crapo, Saxby Chambliss, Olympia Snowe and David Vitter.
