Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) “underwent successful prostate cancer surgery Monday and is ‘recovering well,’ according to his office,” The Hill reports.
Wyden communications director Jennifer Hoelzer told The Hill the senator’s surgery went "perfectly" and he will likely be discharged Tuesday to rest at his Washington D.C. home. Wyden’s procedure was conducted at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
What about his vote?
"I expect that he will be discharged tomorrow and then he will play it by ear with regard to votes after that," Hoelzer said."I expect that if his vote is needed that the vote will most likely be scheduled for later in the week and that the senator will do whatever he can to be here."
