Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) “today joined with Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) in an effort to repeal the Democrats’ government takeover of our nation’s healthcare system,” according to a press release.
“While Democrats in Washington have shown a willful disregard for the views of their constituents, I’m proud to continue to stand with the millions who have spoken out in opposition to the government takeover of our healthcare system,” stated Senator Hutchison. “In tough economic times, the last thing our nation needs is higher taxes, higher insurance premiums, and an unconstitutional power grab by the federal government.”
Here is the bill text:
To repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. REPEAL.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and the amendments made by that Act, are repealed.
