Senators have adopted a procedural (cloture) motion on a substitute amendment to the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (S. 510) by a vote of 69-26.
The substitute contains changes to the original bill that members agreed upon in off-the-floor negotiations. A vote on final passage of the bill is expected tomorrow morning.
