President Obama “will campaign with Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) later this month, the candidate the White House publicly opposed during the Democratic primary earlier this year,” The Hill reports.
Sestak, who’s locked in a tough Senate race with former Rep. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), will appear with the president in Philadelphia on Sept. 20.
"We’re honored that the president would do an event with Joe during his trip to Pennsylvania," Sestak spokesman Jonathon Dworkin told the website Politics PA in an e-mail. "He and Joe may have had their differences, but they can agree that it is critical to elect a senator who will put Pennsylvania’s working families first."
