Senators have unanimously passed the Homebuyer Assistance and Improvement Act (H.R. 5623) to “extend the homebuyer tax credit for the purchase of a principal residence before October 1, 2010, in the case of a written binding contract entered into with respect to such principal residence before May 1, 2010, and for other purposes.”

They also unanimously passed the National Flood Insurance Program Extension Act (H.R. 5569) which would “extend the National Flood Insurance Program until September 30, 2010.”

  1. Where did you get this information? The Senate I was watching did NOT pass HR 5623 and even could not invoke cloture on HR 4213 – watching the entire session today (6/30) there was no affirmative vote on passing the tax credit extension.

DIDN’T PASS YET BUT IT’S AGREED THAT THE FLOOD INSURANCE WILL PASS THE SANETE TOMORROW.

I saw something on the house floor. Maybe they did right after4213 failed

The Senate squeaked H.R. 5569 (Flood Insurance) in really quick with some others with a motions that were unanimously agreed upon without objection.

They were running through it so fast it was very easy to miss.

I am very happy about this since this means my closing won’t be delayed on my new house purchase.
