Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “joined a group of 85 Senators to send a letter to President Obama this week reaffirming their strong support for Israel’s right to self-defense,” according to a press release.
In addition, the Senators express concerns about the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) and they request that the Obama Administration consider whether to add the IHH to the list of foreign terrorist organizations after a thorough review of the facts by the relevant executive branch agencies.
The Senators also restated their belief in a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict and conveyed their hope that the recent incident in the Mediterranean Sea will not disrupt proximity talks.
