The AFL-CIO, Pennsylvania’s “largest labor organization, has endorsed Sen. Arlen Specter over Rep. Joe Sestak in the Democratic primary race for U.S. Senate, the group announced this afternoon,” according to the Patriot-News.
The announcement followed appearances by both candidates at a meeting this morning. The endorsement was based on a two-thirds majority of members present at the meeting.
"It is very meaningful to me on a personal level, and it certainly, on a political level, is tremendous in a Democratic primary," Specter said.
