Two Senators “from opposite sides of the political aisle are set to unveil sweeping legislation that will prevent ‘enemy combatants’ from being Mirandized,” Fox News reports.
The legislation by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., would result in banning all civilian trials for terror suspects who have been classified as enemy combatants and forcing their cases into military commissions.
The bill lays out “comprehensive policy for the detention, interrogation and trial of suspected unprivileged enemy belligerents who are believed to have engaged in hostilities against the United States by requiring these individuals to be held in military custody, interrogated for their intelligence value and not provided with a Miranda warning,” according to a release from McCain’s office.
“Unprivileged enemy belligerents considered to be a ‘high-value detainee’” would be required “to be held in military custody and interrogated for their intelligence value by a High-Value Detainee Interrogation Team established by the President,” the release states.
Interestingly, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has reservations.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., expressed reservations about the bill, saying he “understands what John and Joe are trying to do.” But the former military lawyer added, “I just don’t feel comfortable with it. There is a role for the civilian courts to play.”

What purpose does this serve? Don’t we have a real advantage with access to both? Very predictable for the hard right to say something like no. Chasing that media coverage and making our day to day accounts read like a bad novel.
I strongly oppose this legislation. The government will use “belligerent” as a weapon against protesters or any discension. This is unconstitutional by depriving American citizens of their rights. Remember, protesters were considered low-level terrorists according to DOD training modules. Since that caused a public outrage, they are attempting to pass this disgraceful Act using the guise of “belligerent”. I smell Fascism.
What is with all these increased attempts to blatantly circumvent the Constitution for individuals who are “believed” to be “helping the enemy”?
If there is “reason to believe” an individual is partaking in illegal activity, there ought to be basic CONSTITUTIONAL law enforcement measures that can be taken to deal with that.
Leap frogging courts, due process and other Constitutional protections because of some desire of a given government official is not the mark of a free country, but the emblem of despotic regimes throughout history.
People like McCain and Lieberman seem to fail in their basic understanding of American history, and this failure is what creates rational protestation. This people seem to see the uproar as a problem to be threatened away through fear of brute force.
This extreme activity needs to stop.

There is no doubt this bill is to be used against the patriotic Americans who speak up against the takeover of our government by the international banksters. To lock up supporters of the constitution and honest political candidates such as Ron Paul. Basically they will use it to eliminate intelligent people who can see through the smokescreen. They realize that Americans are discovering the truth that some in our government and Israel were involved in the attack and cover-up. This cannot be denied by the government because Congress passed a bill to fund and build the camps and set up Fusion Centers to run each district consisting of several states. These 10 Fusion Centers are not responsible to answer any other agency, only the dictator of our nation during martial law. Other government agencies will not be allowed to operate during martial law, including Congress who is banned from meeting and most likely forever. Not if martial law is declared, it is when martial law is declared. Recently in an interview, Barry Soetoro/Obama stated he will be President in 8-10 years while dealing with the government of Pakistan. He was not questioned about his statement of being president long past his constitutional limitation of two terms and the highly unlikely possibility of re-election and the fact his own party no longer wants him to run for office. No doubt he plans to eliminate the constitution and become dictator after martial law is called and his military/civilian police force take control with the death camps in full production. In virtue of Section 48 (2) of the German Constitution, the following is decreed as a defensive measure against Communist acts of Violence, endangering the state:
Section 1
Sections 114, 115, 117, 118, 123, 124, and 153 of the Constitution of the German Reich are suspended until further notice. Thus, restrictions on personal liberty, on the right of free expression of opinion, including freedom of the press, on the right of assembly and the right of association, and violations of the privacy of postal, telegraphic, and telephonic communications, and warrants for house-searches, orders for confiscations as well as restrictions on property, are also permissible beyond the legal limits otherwise prescribed.
Section 2
If in a state the measures necessary for the restoration of public security and order are not taken, the Reich Government may temporarily take over the powers of the highest state authority.
Section 4
Whoever provokes, or appeals for or incites to the disobedience of the orders given out by the supreme state authorities or the authorities subject to then for the execution of this decree, or the orders given by the Reich Government according to Section 2, is punishable—insofar as the deed, is not covered by the decree with more severe punishment and with imprisonment of not less that one month, or with a fine from 150 up to 15,000 Reichsmarks.
Who ever endangers human life by violating Section 1, is to be punished by sentence to a penitentiary, under mitigating circumstances with imprisonment of not less than six months and, when violation causes the death of a person, with death, under mitigating circumstances with a penitentiary sentence of not less that two years. In addition the sentence my include confiscation of property.
Whoever provokes an inciter to or act contrary to public welfare is to be punished with a penitentiary sentence, under mitigating circumstances, with imprisonment of not less than three months.
Section 5
The crimes which under the Criminal Code are punishable with penitentiary for life are to be punished with death: i.e., in Sections 81 (high treason), 229 (poisoning), 306 (arson), 311 (explosion), 312 (floods), 315, paragraph 2 (damage to railroad properties, 324 (general poisoning).
Insofar as a more severe punishment has not been previously provided for, the following are punishable with death or with life imprisonment or with imprisonment not to exceed 15 years:
1.Anyone who undertakes to kill the Reich President or a member or a commissioner of the Reich Government or of a state government, or provokes to such a killing, or agrees to commit it, or accepts such an offer, or conspires with another for such a murder;
2.Anyone who under Section 115 (2) of the Criminal Code (serious rioting) or of Section 125 (2) of the Criminal Code (serious disturbance of the peace) commits the act with arms or cooperates consciously and intentionally with an armed person;
3.Anyone who commits a kidnapping under Section 239 of the Criminal with the intention of making use of the kidnapped person as a hostage in the political struggle.

This decree enters in force on the day of its promulgation.

McCain and Lieberman are waging an belligerent assault on our Constitution with the introduction of this Senate bill and should be detained as enemies of the state for an indefinite period of time and interrogated thoroughly.
We are dealing with people who don’t know how to say “please” and “thank you”… Give me a break, people! If you don’t play by the rules of war and abide by the Geneva rules, you don’t get a chance to play by our rules… THAT INCLUDES MARINDA RIGHTS!!!!
