Senators have adopted a procedural (cloture) motion on the nomination of M. Patricia Smith to be Solicitor for the Department of Labor by a vote of 60 to 32.
Unless waived by unanimous consent, thirty hours of post-cloture debate time are available under Senate rules before a final vote can be held.
