Senate Republicans “are asking the Health and Human Services Department to perform an actuarial analysis of the Senate health bill,” The Hill reports.
In a letter to the department today, Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), the ranking members of the Finance and HELP Committees, respectively, said more information is needed on the bill before a floor vote.
"The American public is understandably concerned about the prospect of Congress passing a two thousand page bill without the benefit of a complete assessment from those who best understand the actuarial impact of such decisions,” the senators wrote.
The new request “comes on the heels of a CBO report that found the Senate bill would increase individual premiums by 10% to 13%, but would lower premiums significantly for those eligible for federal subsidies.”
