Kathleen Sebelius Accepts Health & Human Services Nomination

Politico’s Mike Allen, via everybody’s new friend Twitter, reports that Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius (D) has accepted an offer by President Obama to lead the Health & Human Services Department.

The announcement will be made on Monday.

Glenn Thrush on what this means for the open Kansas Senate seat in 2010: “But Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius is going to the Obama cabinet — squashing Dems best-brightest hope to compete in the race to fill Sam Brownback’s seat in one of the nation’s reddest states.”

Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) might have spilled the beans a little bit before the news started breaking via her “tweet” which said the following:

A little anxious about the announcement of HHS Sec. Hopeful that my pal Gov of Kansas will get the call. It should happen today or tomorrow.

One Response to Kathleen Sebelius Accepts Health & Human Services Nomination

Kathleen Sebelius reminds me of a wonderful lady I met in 2006. This lady was so kind to me even though I had just met her. Sebelius gives me the same impression. She is very warm & caring. I hope to meet her someday.
