Sig Rogich, a top fundraiser and influential Republican in the state of Nevada, is apparently endorsing Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and his bid to seek another term in 2010.
The emerging Republican efforts to defeat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., have suffered a blow.
Sig Rogich, one of the most influential players in Republican politics in Nevada, has endorsed Reid’s reelection bid.
“Nevada needs to understand at this perilous time in our state’s history, why would you ever think about getting rid of the majority leader of the U.S. Senate?” Rogich told Jon Ralston, on his Nevada TV program.
The Scorecard on Republican prospects at the moment:
Republicans view Reid as one of the most vulnerable Democratic incumbents – and have polling to back them up — but they need to identify a credible opponent willing to challenge him.
Former GOP congressman Jon Porter has expressed interest; the other frequently mentioned candidate, lieutenant governor Brian Krolicki is under indictment.
