The Associated Press is reporting that a helicopter carrying Senator Kerry (D-MA), Senator Biden (D-DE) and Senator Hagel (R-NE) had to make an emergency landing in Afghanistan today.
As we reported earlier this week, the three Senators were recently in Pakistan to observe the fairness of parliamentary elections. They were also scheduled to visit India and Turkey.
There hasn’t been any specific reason given as to why they had to make the emergency landing but we will update this post when one is offered.
Update: Politico reports that the landing was made due to weather conditions. Nobody was injured and the trip has continued on as scheduled.
