The Senate is now considering the Conference Report on H.R. 3222 (Department of Defense Appropriations). As a reminder, a Conference Report is the final version of a bill after it has been approved by a committee of both House and Senate members. This bill provides for $459 billion dollars in funding for the Department of Defense and its various programs. This is $3.5 billion dollars less than originally requested by the President.
Also attached to this bill is a continuing resolution which will keep all government programs running while the Senate continues work on passing all remaining appropriation bills. The resolution provides emergency funding through December 14, 2007.
The House passed this Conference Report by a vote of 400 (Y) to 15 (N).
