Defense Bill Amendments / Tuesday Schedule

The Senate finished up yesterday’s session by adopting a total of 50 amendments to the Defense Appropriations Bill (H.R. 1585). We will obviously not attempt to list them all in this setting, but you can find a comprehensive list by reading the Daily Digest which is a publication put out by the Senate each day. A link to this publication, which lists all adopted amendments, can be found here.

Today’s session begins at 9:00 a.m. central time with a period of morning business. The Senate is then scheduled to proceed to consideration of H.R. 1124 (Extension of the District of Columbia College Access Act of 1999). There will be at least one amendment, offered by Senator Coburn (R-OK), which will be debated and voted upon with this bill. A final vote on the bill will be taken after all amendments have been considered.

At 1:15 p.m. central time today, the Senate will consider S. 1257 (Provides the District of Columbia a voting seat and the State of Utah an additional seat in the House of Representatives). A vote is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on the motion to invoke cloture on this bill.

Of Note:  The Senate will recess today from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. for weekly party lunches.
